And walk away more confident about your steps!  James studied with salsa masters such as Eddie Torres, Juan Matos, and Adolfo Indacochea, before opening his own dance  studio, Fun House.  Come join James and his Fun House

Samba and Bossa Nova

Hey, we have our own little Carnaval! Samba complete with a dance performance! Come on dance to this energetic Afro-Brazilian beats. And if it is too much too fast for you, wait for the second half and chill to the breezy sounds of Bossa Nova. Led by the Brazilian Paulo Cesar and his countrymen, this performance sounds fun.

West African Djembe Band
Jammala is the first West African Djambe band in China. Their music is based on drums, singing and dancing. Their drum circle routine, the primitive rhythm and melody will make everybody dance!

Arabic Songs
An Spanish/ Arabic Singer born in Tangier, Morocco, Hind started singing and dancing since she was a little child! She will enchant you with Nancy Ajram songs. Come to feel her positive energy, good vibe and lots of emotions.

African and Sega (Mauritius) Dance

Kubatana is a group of dancers and drummers coming from different countries to bring you joy and energy with a lively music and wild rhythms.... They  all share the same passion and love for African music

 

MANDY EMBERS  |  20:00 - 20:20

Tribal Glow Hula Hoops
Mandy Embers is a Miami born fire and glow performer. She has been spinning her way around the world for the last ten years although she is currently based in Shanghai, China and is available for international gigs. Her talents include fire eating, breathing, hula hoop, staff, double staff, poi and fans as well as LED staff, poi and hula hoop. Make sure to catch her show, it's definitely something you do not want to miss!

 

DJ CAVIA  |  21:00 - 22:00

Winner of the 2008 China DMC Championship, DJ Cavia found music in his teenage years as a way to connect with the vast world outside his tiny sphere. At 20 years old, DJ Shadow's legendary "In Tune On Time" changed his life. Right then and there, Cavia dropped out of school, bought two turntables, and hasn't looked back. Within just two years he won the China DMC DJ championship and went to the DMC World Championship in London. Since then he has retired from the DJ batlle scene to focus more on producing. But DJ Cavia still lives for a challenge.As a DJ, he's highly praised for his various different styles, scratch skills and extraordinary taste from both underground and mainstream crowds. His set usually combines Hip Hop, Trap, Rock and Funk.

DJ SKINNY BROWN  |  13:00 - 14:00

Dj Skinny Brown is behind Shanghai's monthly POPASUDA events, specializing in global sounds. Much of his music is sent directly to him from producers across Africa, Brazil, Colombia, India, and Latin America. While his unique sounds source cultural rhythms and traditional vocals and instruments, they all come remixed and built for the dancefloor. With heavy bass, his sets span genres from Trap to bass, reggae to dancehall, and house to hip hop, along with more traditional sound like salsa, samba, azonto, cwaito, reggaeton, bhangra, and a mélange of beats, rhythms, and melodies.

Brazilian Martial Arts by Capoeira Mandinga Shanghai
Watch this demonstration of Capoeira, the Brazilian martial arts commonly performed with the rhythm of berimbau, a one string instrument and singing and singing. It is almost like a dancing fight performance. By Professor Diego “Guerreiro”

THE HORDE  |  14:30 - 15:15

The Horde - Epic Folk Band
Slinging a unique blend of Americana music, The Horde has become a mainstay of the Shanghai music scene, livening up music halls with harmonica wails, cajon thumps and mandolin trinkles. With a large repertoire of original music on topics as diverse as trips to Thailand, Shanghai wastrels, Homeric paeans and ruminations on George Washington's axing of the proverbial cherry tree, the Horde has "conquered" on tours of Beijing, Suzhou, Ningbo and Ulaanbatar, Mongolia. In 2013, the band released its first EP, "Consider Yourselves Conquered", which received critical acclaim and featured on many year-end lists, including Best Albums of 2013 by Smartshanghai.com. The Horde is currently preparing to release its first full album, "Fahuazhen", later this year.

 

FLAMENCO  |  15:30 - 16:00

Carmen González, versatil dancer speciallised in contemporary and Flamenco born in Málaga, Spain. She started studying Spanish dance at the age of 4 and graduated in proffesional conservatory (Carmen Roche), in Madrid, diploma in Musical theatre in the same conservatory and superior Contemporary studies in Málaga superior public dance conservatory. She has worked in several musical theatres all around Spain such as "the beatles", with experience not only on theatre's stages but also in tv: in Spain for commercials and in China for China's Got Talent.
Andrés Coca, Flamenco and Jazz guitarist born in Madrid, Spain. Audiences across the world including Spain, the United Kingdom, Japan and now China have enjoyed Andres’ splendid musical repertoire.
